Richie grows up hot. It's not really fair: he's this dorky looking tween most of the time, the same age as Regan. Darrow's made him an adult, just like it has her, and he's grown into his features, into his voice and glasses, and he's hot, and it's a little unfair, because Regan knows this isn't permanent for either of them.
But she can enjoy it while they last, can't she?
She sends him a text, a simple Want to do lunch? that seems much more casual than she feels. She takes a stupid amount of time getting dressed, too, and fluffing her hair. She practices some eyeliner and makeup, pursing her lips into a little smile when she likes what she sees.
She glances at her phone when she's done to see if Richie has answered, then heads out. Even if he says no, the least she can do is go out and enjoy herself.
